We currently have a flock of 130 sheep, predominantly consisting of the Suffolk/Mule cross, mated with a Hampshire Down ram. We find that this makes for easy lambing, but gives a good sized lamb. As with all of our animals, the sheep and lambs spend their lives outside, eating nothing more than grass, which we believe is one of the main reasons that the meat tastes so much better, than lamb which is produced from animals which have spent their whole lives in a shed, never seeing let alone eating any grass.
