All our meat comes from our own animals, living here on the farm, so we have complete traceability on the meat. The animals are taken to a local abattoir (Snells in South Chard, as featured on River Cottage), where they are dealt with in a calm professional manner, with minimum stress. The carcass is then hung for the optimum length of time, to mature the meat, before being sent to Complete Meats processing plant in Axminster. The carcass is then cut up into the individual steaks, joints, sausages etc, before being being vacuum packed and labelled.
