The pork liver pate is now ready to try and not surprisingly it has an overwhelming aroma of port.
I have been cooking a lot today and I am quite proud of the varied amount of our own home grown produce I have used.
The pate has our fresh pig livers in from Thursday, along with our own pork sausagemeat and the port!

PRESS CALL
Adam Henson offering advice to local smallholders in Honiton
On Thursday 23rd February
Popular rural TV presenter and smallholding expert, Adam Henson will be on hand next week to offer advice to smallholders – or those considering taking the plunge.
If you’re a novice wanting to know how to get the best tasting eggs, or an established smallholder looking for advice on how to perk up stressed animals, Adam will be happy to help.
Adam has used his own expertise to launch his own range of smallholder products – the Adam Henson Smallholder Range - a selection of high quality feed supplements available in economical “smallholder” sizes.
Adam believes that “The health and well-being of my animals is the priority for me as a farmer, so as well as providing the best feed I can, I tackle any nutritional imbalances with supplements.”

I had to laugh today at an email sent to me by Helen who was looking to rebook with us in April.
We managed to confirm some dates and she asked if they could bring their 'willies' to help out on the farm.
As Cynthia is obviously in pig and hopefully Joe the bull has serviced the girls I am a little concerned!

Farmer Chris is taking the last three remaining piggies off to 'meat' their maker today. They go to a local abbatoir in Chard which is only 7-8 miles away . They stay in overnight for bed and breakfast so that they are as stress free as possible on the day of slaughter.
This is one aspect of farming I find hard but I know those piggies have had a good life and have had plenty of space to run around in and have been spoilt rotten.
The quality of the meat surpasses any found in a supermarket and the crackling is beyond compare.
Meanwhile, Cynthia oblivious to the fate of her daughters is still basking under her heat lamp with what looks like a smug grin on her 'chops' !

I am quite proud of my deliberate mispelling and would like to own up to all of you watching Cynthia's progress that we have been back in touch with the owner of her boyfriend and we were given the wrong dates so although Cynthia looks like she is ready to explode her due date is now around 22nd/23rd February!
So our smug sow has had the benefit of a heat lamp two weeks too early!

We have just welcomed in our new guests and they thought it was very funny to watch Farmer Chrisrumsby put the chickens to bed!
Once again it is a very cold night and Cynthia is loudly snoring underneath her heat lamp oblivious to all the interest around her and her impending birth.
